Bees Claim Early-Season BCS Showdown at Cassopolis
CASSOPOLIS - Bridgman made an early-season trip to long-time rival Cassopolis and came away with an uptempo 87-67 victory. With the win, the Bees improved to 3-0 overall.
Bridgman trailed early, however the Bees hit 7 of its ten 3-pointers in the first half to erase an 11-2 deficit and go into halftime with a 42-38 lead.
The Rangers seemed to have the momentum going into the fourth quarter after Alex Emerson hit a shot as time expired to pull Cassopolis within 60-55 entering the fourth quarter.
Bridgman responded with a 16-6 run to take a 78-63 lead with 4:11 left in the game. In the fourth quarter, the Bees shot 70-percent (7-of-10) from the field and went 12-of-14 from the free-throw line.
Nick Knowlton scored 18 points to lead a balanced Bridgman offense. Cam Mazurik added 15 points and 10 rebounds.
